Bundled vs Online installer

BroTools downloads come in 2 versions – “Online Installer” or “Core” and “Bundled”.

The difference between the two is simple – “Core” only includes the minimum necessary files to activate a license and run the Updater. It’s a small download, but you will not see any tools until you run the Updater, which is necessary to let BroTools download all the necessary files for your licensed tools.

“Bundled” version, as the name implies, comes with all the files already bundled in – it’s a single archive which includes all the licensed tools in it already, no need to run the Updater.

Where do I get the Bundled version?

A link to download your Bundled version is emailed to you upon purchase.

You can also click the BroTools Version Archive above to request an email with download links for all Bundled and Core versions available to you.

What should I pick?

Get the Latest Online Installer if you just want the newest version – it’s the simplest option for most users.

If you use a Floating license or would like to work in an offline environment – download the Bundled version.

Need an older or specific version? No internet on your work machine? Or running an older Maya? Click on BroTools Version Archive, enter your email and you will receive a list of all versions for all tools available to you.

For Maya 2021 and older: You need a version with Python 2 support (like 2023.7.6). Get it by requesting a Download Archive email on the Downloads page.

A note about BroDynamics 2.x: This is only for users who purchased BroDynamics 2.x specifically, before 2021. It’s unsupported and provided as-is for those who prefer to stick with the older version.
